Welcome to the Art Program

This year in the Art Room we will be creating artistically literate students through the Sunshine State Standards. All 5 benchmarks of Skills & Techniques, Creation & Communication, Cultural & Historical Connections, Aesthetic & Critical Analysis, and Applications to Life will be explored throughout the year.

We will be spend most of our time on art production as we will be working sequentially on 2D & 3D drawing, painting, printing, textile, and clay creations.

Also this year we will illustrate the talents of Edison Park Elementary School by participation in several community based projects. These projects are Keep Lee County Beautiful “Keep the Scene Clean” calendar contest, the Harry Chapin’s Food Bank “Empty Bowls” fund raiser, and the Edison Ford Winter Estates-Children’s Trail of Trees and Art in the Garden. We will also showcase our artwork at the end of the school year show at the Alliance of the Arts and the year long showing of Designs and Dreams at the Public Education Center.

The attributes of Confidence and Imagination within each student will be a constant daily concept behind all the teachings of the Art Room.
