Announcing

The Ben Carson

Foundation Scholarship

At a recent luncheon, Dr. and Mrs. John Sheppard endowed Edison Park with a donation of $30,000  for college. Each year this student will be sent a letter reporting how much their scholarship has grown. They can reapply up to 5 more times throughout middle and high school.

Ellen Sheppard,   Jamie Kirschner, principal,  John Sheppard

From this year forward, a committee of teachers and the principal, will select 3 scholars from 4th or 5th grade that demonstrate academic excellence and show civility within their community. The 3 scholars send an application with an essay to the Foundation in Maryland. Only one winner will be selected. This student will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship to be invested to their college fund.
The winner will  be honored at a banquet with winners from other schools. Recipients will receive a gold medal for them to keep, the money held in a fund for them and their name will be added to a beautiful trophy to be kept in the front entrance of Edison Park.

To be a Carson Scholar is an amazing honor.
