“Every experience, good or bad, you have to learn from.”

~Patrick Mahomes (KC quarterback)

Welcome to our 2nd edition of the Edison Park News for 2021!! Last week Edison Park students completed their 2nd diagnostic assessments in ELA, Math, and Science. Students are continuing to show improvements and growth in all areas. I will be reporting all of our data at our next SAC Meeting on Tuesday, February 23rd at 6:00PM. If you would like to join the meeting, please call the office with your email address so we can send you a Zoom invitation.

In October, Edison Park CEA arts team was awarded the Florida Arts Model School for 2020-2023!! This is a huge honor for the team as only 3 schools throughout Florida received this award in all four arts disciplines: Dance, Music, Theatre, and the Visual Arts. Edison Park CEA received a beautiful plaque and a banner which will replace the last model school recognition. Please take a moment and congratulate this well-deserved team on their achievement.

Lastly, I want to remind all families to take time to read with their child(ren). Fifteen minutes a day can help them be more successful with their all their academics at school. Having your child become a reader is the single most important thing you can do to help your child succeed in school and in life. Reading helps student in all school subjects and is the key to lifelong learning.

Fourth grade rang in the New Year with a new instructional model!
All students will be staying with their homeroom teachers for the remainder of the year! We are excited to spend those extra minutes in small group instruction to provide the enrichment our students enjoy.
We encourage our fourth graders to read AR nightly, practice multiplication facts, and reach their weekly minute goals in iReady.
We are proud of our students’ accomplishments on their iReady diagnostic testing and know that semester two is going to be the best yet!

And the Edison Park Oscar goes to……………
What an awesome premiere of our first ever movie “Yuletide Tales” by our amazing theatre teacher, Ms. McCullers, her talented crew, Mrs. Peters (dance), Ms. James (violin), and Mrs. Jones (music) along with our “worthy of an Oscar” performing students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. EPCEA knocked it out of the park with this performance!
